A Few Minutes a Day of Bible Reading
Reflecting on habit #18 in my journey
Some habits are hard to stick to, some are easy. When a habit involves sitting in a comfy chair reading from a good book, specifically The Good Book, it is pretty easy to keep.
I decided to do a straight read-through of the bible from beginning to end. It’s not necessarily the approach I’d suggest for someone not familiar with the bible but I’m appreciating it. I’m mid Exodus right now so smack dab in one of the epic hero’s journeys of ancient literature.
This habit is working well for me because I found an appropriate time slot in my day. One key takeaway for me in this journey is the importance of where I place my habits. This one I do in conjunction with another new habit, prayer.
I had to experiment with the timing a bit but now my prayer and reading come after I have finished my first big writing push of the day. It's a nice palette cleanser before diving back into work on a new topic.
14 out of 18 for keeper habits.
