Humor, opinions, and fiction? Yes, please. Betsy Denton is a treasure. She has a wicked sense of humor and a clean clear writing style that is a joy. I like the way this woman thinks. Her gift of characterization is impressive. Here are some of my favorite stories:

You know it — the creeping dread. Sure, there are other worries.

Did I turn the oven off? Is the garage door open?

But when your friend unburdens herself on Facebook (she lost her job the same day she fractured her hip and her husband left her) and you want to wrap her in a warm virtual hug, there looms the very worst fear of all.

Did I accidentally click on the laughing emoji?

They are right next to each other. They are both yellow. And you were in a hurry. Please, oh please, no.

I need this support group. I get the appeal of emojis, I do, but fear of using the wrong one is a real thing and I feel seen by Betsy’s…
