I’ve been following Bev Potter for a long time now but there are so many stories I have managed to miss. My 30-day challenge is a great chance to catch up. Any writer who regularly makes me laugh out loud has earned my reading minutes.

Start anywhere, read anything and you won’t be sorry. Most of her stories are relatively short so you can consume them like popcorn, always reaching for just one more handful before stopping. Here are some of my favorites from today’s read:

This was before helicopter parenting and the internet, or video games, or cell phones, or any of the techno-clutter that keeps kids busy today. The mall was almost an hour away and constituted the kind of major outing you planned for weeks in advance. You strategized a trip to the mall much as you would an attempt on Annapurna.

There was a time kids roamed free across the land and sometimes I think it’s a miracle so many of us lived long enough to write about those years fondly. Bev writes brilliantly about this…
