The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate. — Oprah Winfrey

The thing I’m celebrating today is reaching the end of my 30-day habit formation journey.

What was I thinking!

It has been a fun and productive journey I’m glad I did, but I’m also very glad to take a break from adding in new habits. I was definitely scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Not that there aren’t plenty of new habits out there I could and should adopt, but ones that meet my criteria for this challenge: daily, doable, not too much to handle along with all the other new habits? Not so much.

Of course, today marks the end for now of adding new daily habits, but not the end of the habits themselves. I committed to giving each habit a full 30 days before deciding whether it should be permanent so in a lot of ways this experiment carries on until the end of May.

But I have already succeeded in starting 30 new habits so hooray me!

That’s today’s celebration covered. For the rest of the month ahead, I’m going to find something to celebrate each day. It doesn’t have to be big and the celebration can be as simple as a quick victory dance in my kitchen, singing the Alleluia chorus to myself, or a celebratory meal or treat.

Starting tomorrow I’ll begin reflecting on how each habit went but today I celebrate!
