Grief is universal and yet somehow so specific and isolating. This is a beautiful piece. I remember consoling a friend who lost her 99 year old dad. "It hurts no matter how old they are," I told her and she burst into tears. I was the first person who had acted like it was okay for her to grieve deeply.
