I agree with you. My aim in writing this was to portray both the reality of the experience but also the importance of doing it. For me and several of my friends sharing stories of what is coming normalizes it and turns it from some big scary thing to be avoided to a possibly uncomfortable but totally possible to live through experience unlike colon cancer caught too late.
