I liked this story and agree 100% with the points. I think the biggest thing that could have helped is a strong emotional punch in the opening and maybe a more catchy title. Your title is good but I read that question and say, "Well obviously yes." There isn't enough mystery in my mind to make me click. Maybe something like "Is the free lunch era of news and entertainment coming to an end?" I don't know.

For the opening I would have considered a story with a bit of emotion. Maybe something like a time you were excited to find a article you really wanted to read and then ran smack into a paywall or a barrage of ads driving you crazy. Kind of sell the problem and suck the reader into wanting to hear your thoughts and your answer.
