I think you wrote a heartrending piece. I suspect you didn't get a lot of reads because most people have decided it is time to move on no matter what. We were hopefully vaccines would be a complete answer and when that didn't happen due to new varients and anti vaxxers so many are just so tired they don't want to think about it if they don't have to.

People in your situation don't have the choice to ignore and hope for the best. I wish you well. There are no easy answers.
