It is a great story! I think your problem is your title and your feature image.

The title is the biggest problem. I personally loved your story but never would have clicked on it normally because stories about being a workaholic are all over the place and often not well written.

Starting a title with I usually isn't the best idea. In this case I think you have a great twist to your story with the Chinese language lesson. That needs to be in the title not just the subtitle. Maybe something like How learning to read Chinese helped cure my workaholic lifestyle.

I'd also use Chinese characters in your graphic.
