It's so easy to get caught in this, even with a sound mind. I almost got scammed while dealing with my mom's fraud. I got a text from her bank saying there was suspicious activity on her account, please call this number immediately. My adrenalin immediately spiked and I was ready to dial when I decided to google the phone number provided first. Sure enough it was a known fraud number. But the thing is, even though I was in the process of cleaning up fraud and was telling my mom every day always call the number you already have for the bank not the one someone gives you over text or the phone I still nearly got caught.
