Nothing, not even returning to the gorgeous body I inhabited at age 16, would convince me to start life over as a high schooler again. Apart from physical aging which truly sucks, each decade of my life so far has been better than the one before.

But the music of my youth? It still moves me and continues to populate the playlists of my days.

I’m going with my pivotal junior year of high school. It was to be the year of my first kiss, first boyfriend, and first breakup, but I didn’t know any of that when I headed off to school wearing my Esprit crop top and my I-wish-I-could-afford-Jordache-but-I-can’t-so-I’m-stuck-with-these jeans instead.
