Oh Jaimie, I agree so much with everything you said. I can hardly imagine how hard it must have been for you to live with fear of your parents reaction for so many years. I'm so glad there are so many adult Trans people fighting to make the path better for the young people coming up. I alternate between hope and despair.

I know my story was overly optimistic. It doesn't represent the norm but it is possible and it does happen. I've seen parents who were moderately anti Trans do a complete 180 when it's their own kid. I've also seen liberal "LGBTQ friendly" parents reject their Trans kid in so may hurtful ways.

We need to normalize the wide range of Trans experiences and families so that all children (and adults) are free to full their full reality and be loved.
