One Chore You’ll Learn to Love as a Parent of Little Ones

The list of things that need doing for a parent of little ones is never-ending. Not only that, it keeps repeating. Feed them? They’ll expect it again in just a couple of hours. Change a diaper? Ditto. Laundry? Ha, ha, ha, ha! We all know that’s a black hole eating endless hours.

And then there is the noise. Toys that beep, clang, and sing. Yelling, crying.. and that’s just you not to mention the kids.

It’s hard to even hear yourself think.

So you may be surprised to hear me suggest adding another chore to your growing list. But trust me on this one.

Lawn Mowing. It’s the job you didn’t know you needed in your life.

Here are a few reasons why lawn mowing is the perfect chore for a parent who needs a break.

  1. It’s alone time. Fire up that mower and depending on the size of your yard you have 30 minutes to 2 hours of quality contemplation time. Nobody will be pulling on you asking for yet another snack. While the children might be crying and screaming inside the house you will be blissfully unaware over the sound of the mower.
  2. It stays done for days at a time. Look out your window tomorrow and it still looks…
