Personally I'm still a bit miffed that I got married before bachelorette parties were common. My husband got a bachelor party but it never even occurred to me and my friends to have a corresponding but separate party.

Also, as a long married person I am totally on your side in the stop treating single people like second class citizens, and stop expecting other people to substidize your silly wedding ideas. Do what you can afford, enjoy your day, be happy about who shows up, and say "no worries, catch you later" to anyone who can't make it.
