This is why I could never enjoy Wall-e. Too realistically prophetic.

…ither the will nor the resources to put more than a couple dozen people into space at any one time. What the movie predicts accurately is the human tendency to succumb to a life of ease, to park ourselves fat and grinning in comfy chairs, waited on by robots, and consuming advertising — aka “content” — while slurping down manufactured techno-food.
