ng …ly and friends, I’ve never felt the siren call of a particular place or country, other than France. Here in this sprawling wine-making region, I walk among ancient vines so deeply rooted in the rocky schist that they cannot be removed without destroying them. I’m more like the rootless tumbleweeds of the American West that blow across the highways.
