This was the essence of Barbie to me as well and I'm in awe of how the movie nailed that.

and my…e’s world alive… and the answer is that I was wrong to assume those two things don’t share any DNA. The best part of playing with Barbie as a kid was using her as a tool to imagine my own future adventures and my grown-up self. And there’s nothing more compelling than a story about growth — real or imaginary.
