Very interesting to read. I think I did both as a kid. I spent long hours creating stories in my mind (usually during school, church, or long bus rides), but I also created elaborate stories with my barbies and stuffed animals. Now that I think about it though, I preferred to do it alone. Other people messed up my stories.

As a parent, I adored imaginative play with my kids when they let me create the stories. Hmmmm. Now I'm thinking.
