You make some excellent points. Talking directly is much better than email and what I should have done. Your daughter is lucky to have you. You are absolutely right that we need to be advocates for our children. What I was trying to convey, imperfectly was that sometimes it’s okay to also back off and let our kids fight their own battles if they want to and are capable of doing so.
